Dear Men and Women of God,

This last year our pastoral staff at Calvary Chapel Lexington read Gary Chapman’s bestselling book, “The 5 Love Languages:  The Secret to Love that Lasts.” To be honest with you I didn’t know what to expect in regards to the book.  I had heard about the five love languages and thought there was probably some truth to the idea that different people have different love languages.  I went into the reading of the book with the idea it is probably just another Christian book on marriage that might have a few good ideas on how to have a better marriage.

Then I read the book with our staff and with my wife!!!  I was blown away by the difference I saw that can come to a marriage from understanding your spouse’s love language and keeping your spouse’s love tank full by ministering to her through her love language.  After taking the test at the end of the book and then talking to my wife about it I was also blown away that I didn’t know one of Heidi’s main love languages even though we have been married for 36 years!!  Since the reading of this book and taking this test I think we both have a greater understanding of how we can better love one another through ministering to one another through our love languages.

As a staff at Calvary Chapel Lexington we enjoyed reading this book so much we decided to invite Gary Chapman to come and do a marriage seminar on the five love languages.  We have also invited Don and Jean McClure to do two sessions of Biblical teaching on marriage.  Don and Jean have been married for 54 years and have ministered to marriages all over the world through the teaching of God’s Word.

The Five Love Languages marriage seminar will be on Saturday, March 25 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.  The first session will be led by Don McClure and will be Biblical teaching on marriage.  The second session will be led by Gary Chapman on the 5 Love Languages.  We will take a break at noon for a wonderful catered lunch on our church property.  After lunch Gary Chapman will do a one hour session that will include a time for questions and answers on the five love languages.  After this Don McClure will do one more session on Biblical teaching on marriage.  After this session Don and Jean McClure will have a question and answer time on Biblical questions about marriage.

The cost for the conference will be $75 per couple which will include the catered lunch.  I hope you can carve out some time to join us as we are going to have a great marriage conference that will help us all grow in our ability to love our partners well.  God bless and hope to see you at the Calvary Chapel Marriage Conference!
